Cosmos Club’s 990

The 990 is an annual information return that is required to be filed with the Internal Revenue Service by most organizations exempt from income tax under section 501(c) of the tax code.

The Cosmos Club is exempt from federal tax under section 501(c)7. Starting with tax year 2009, the IRS form contained many questions about policies and practices of the tax-exempt organization.

The 990 returns are open to public inspection and can be accessed online at public websites. The Cosmos Club Board of Management decided to facilitate the process for members by posting the recent 990’s.
