Cosmos Club
Privacy at the Cosmos Club
We collect as little as this website needs to work, we do not sell it, we do not advertise to you, and we tell you plainly what is kept and for how long.

At a glance
A few things you can hold us to. The rest of this page is the detail behind them.
We do not sell or rent your information
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to other clubs, not to anyone. There is no exception further down this page that lets us start.
No advertising and no social trackers
This website carries no advertising. There is no social network pixel and no cross-site profiling. We do count page views, with every advertising feature switched off, and you can turn that off in the next section.
Member content stays behind the login
The member directory, Board minutes, the Bulletin and member documents are shown only to signed-in members, and they are kept out of search engines.
Measurement is optional and you control it
One switch on this page turns page measurement off for your browser. We honour Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track automatically, and we do not measure you at all while you are signed in.
This policy covers cosmosclub.org and the member areas of this website. It does not cover what happens inside the clubhouse, and it does not cover the separate member portal that holds your profile, reservations and statements, which has its own terms. Where this website hands you over to that portal, we say so.
If any statement on this page turns out to be untrue of the website, that is a defect: tell us at [email protected] and we will correct it.
What we collect
What the website needs to work, and nothing we would then use against you.
- Account details when you sign in, so we can recognise you and keep your session secure.
- Anything you send us through a form or a message, so we can respond to it.
- Basic, privacy-respecting visit statistics, unless you switch them off in the controls below.
We use this only to run the website and to serve members. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent any of it.
Your privacy controls
Real controls, on this page, that take effect immediately.
These controls apply to the device and browser you are using now. Nothing here requires an account, and your choices are stored on your device rather than sent to us.
Website measurement
We count page views so we can see which pages members actually use and stop maintaining the ones they do not. There is no advertising, no ad personalisation and no cross-site profiling: those features are switched off in our configuration. Turn this off and the measurement script is never loaded at all, rather than loaded and asked to stay quiet.
JavaScript is switched off in this browser, so the switch cannot be shown. It is also the reason measurement is already off for you: the script cannot load without it. To make the choice permanent on a browser where JavaScript is on, send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal from your browser settings, or write to [email protected].
Your browser's privacy signal
If your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track, we treat it as an opt-out and hold the switch above off. You do not have to do anything else, and we are not going to overrule your browser from a web page.
The live readout needs JavaScript to display. The signal itself is still honoured.
Checking your browser
Preferences saved on this device
Two things are stored in this browser and nowhere else: your measurement choice, and the reading settings from the accessibility widget. Neither is attached to your membership record, neither is sent to us, and neither follows you to another device. Clearing them returns both to their defaults.
Clear cookies and site data for cosmosclub.org in your browser settings to remove anything saved here.
Ask what we hold about you
Ask and we will tell you what this website holds about you, correct it, send you a copy, or delete what we are not required to keep. See Your rights for what to expect and how long it takes.
Three further controls, for changing your password, ending a session on another device and correcting your membership record, appear here when you are signed in.
Your rights
You are in control of the information we hold.
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, and ask us to delete information we are not required to keep. You can also opt out of visit measurement at any time using the controls above. To make any of these requests, write to [email protected] and a person will answer.
