Dress Code At The Club
COSMOS CLUB DRESS CODE
The Cosmos Club has an atmosphere of warmth, dignity and elegance. Cosmos Club members, their families and guests are expected to wear attire consistent with that atmosphere. This is both a courtesy and an expectation. Any Club member, family member, or guest not properly attired will be advised by Club Management or appropriate staff and requested to comply with the dress code.
REGULAR DRESS (October 1 through April 30)
Men are expected to wear a sport jacket, dress slacks, and a collared, long-sleeved, tucked-in shirt or turtleneck in the Clubhouse. Ties are required in the Garden Dining Room at lunch, dinner and Sunday Brunch. Ties are not required anywhere else.
Women are expected to wear dresses, suits, skirts or dress slacks with jackets or tops of appropriate formality. Casual tops with slacks, but no jacket, do not constitute appropriate formality.
For both women and men, white soled shoes are acceptable if they are dress shoes.
Casual attire is permitted in the Hillyer House and during the time it takes an individual to check in to and out from an overnight room in the Clubhouse, and while proceeding to or from one’s room.
Military uniforms and national dress of equivalent formality are acceptable at Club events. At black-tie events, members and guests are expected to dress appropriately for the occasion.
SUMMER DRESS (May 1 through September 30)
Business casual attire is permitted throughout the Clubhouse prior to 5 pm. After 5 pm, sport jackets, are required in the Garden Dining Room. “Business casual” for men includes slacks, and collared, long-sleeved, tucked-in shirts that button down the center, and for women includes dresses, or slacks or skirts with tops of appropriate formality.
